Pierre Lurton appointed CEO of Château d’Yquem

LVMH, the main shareholder of Château d’Yquem, today announces the appointment of Pierre Lurton as CEO of the most famous of Bordeaux wines which was classed as an exceptional premier grand cru in 1855 and is considered to be the finest white wine in the world. Pierre Lurton will continue to fulfil his duties at the head of Cheval Blanc, the Saint-Emilion class A premier grand cru, which is jointly owned in equal measure by Albert Frère and Bernard Arnault. Pierre Lurton succeeds Alexandre de Lur Saluces, who in turn becomes Advisor to the Group Chairman, a role in which he will assist the senior management of LVMH in the strategic development of the Group’s wine interests. He will also retain a seat on the Château d’Yquem Board, where he becomes Honorary Chairman of the company. In addition, after his successful time at Yquem, Aymeric de Montault will assume new responsibilities within the Wines and Spirits division of LVMH.
